The Sog

Sog...like in S-O-G-G-Y, that was yesterday's weather story hereabouts.  Some is better than none, water that is.  Drizzled most of the day with very light periods of actual droplets falling.  Soggy, like the wretched Denver-Seattle matchup (if you call it that) in the Super Bowl.  One very boring and amazingly predictable football game.  Was very nice to watch though on my laptop here in the dining room thanks to the Fox Network.  No cost either...lots of ads, as expected but still, excellent coverage of a lousy game.

Sunny outside and 48 degrees currently.  Off to Chris' Club tonight, a bit of fun even when it isn't.  Nice to meet our friends and have a burger.  The band itself has lost much of its fire for me, 2 years ago it met the need for some bluesy stuff mixed with the odd R&B piece and some funk thrown in for good measure.  Now I've heard everything they can play many times over and I'm sorry (no I'm not!) it's just plain boring.  Ronnie's guitar playing is as good as ever, he's really a great guitarist but the format is stale (supposed to be a BLUES jam) with many of the same "acts" getting in the way MOST of the time. The place itself is a DIVE, but friendly as it can be and fills up nicely and people do pay attention some of the time and some dancing goes on which is always fun.  The burgers are a value and GREAT!  I miss some of the old characters that we've lost along the way though and that doesn't help my overall gloomy feeling about the state of affairs at CC.  It was a 10 in my book, now it's a 4 or 5.  Jeff playing the sax is the high point of the night when he's there.

Look them up on Facebook...I cannot make the damned link work.  https://www.facebook.com/chrisclubvallejo

Today's activities?  Make an Apple Tart,  Mop the Kitchen Floor, Empty the Cat Box, Work on the memory problem on my machine in the bedroom.  Yes, it burps now and again and it's getting worse.
I ordered a replacement stick last night from Newegg, should be here tomorrow.

Made the Apple Tart, 6 Fuji's...big apples with great taste and a consistency/texture that works when cooked. Sweetened with Coconut Sugar. Lots of butter, nutmeg, cinnamon, allspice as seasonings.  A touch of vanilla.  45 min at 360 pre-heated oven in cast iron pie pan.

Cats are Cats...
